Looking back to 2019, air travel was growing exponentially, and airlines had become used to incentives and marketing support to assist with route development… Roll-on three-years; airport revenues are just starting to come back, and, as airlines move beyond route experimentation, what is needed for carriers to ensure they serve airports/destinations with a more long-term sustainable vision? Do we go back to the old ways of supporting airlines, or do we need a new model to ensure a win-win for all parties? Many LCCs are experts at negotiating Air Services Agreements to maximize revenues, what’s their “secret sauce?”

About Our Presenter: Gavin Eccles has worked across all-sides of the air services table. As a former CCO of an airline he knows what is needed by the carrier in regard to route profitability. Acting as an advisor to Tourism Boards, Gavin is aware of what can be incentivized, and, why tourism should push strong parts of their marketing budgets to support the ‘supply’; and, working with airports, Gavin has been privy to understand the ways taxes and incentives are applied to reduce ‘uncertainty’ for the carrier when considering to serve.
